RECOMMENDATION
Your optician will know best on how to guide you on the best lens for your specific prescription. Here is some general information to help you decide the type of lens you want to pair with AJsens.
Lens thickness range from
1.5 – standard. ($)
1.6 – thin
1.67 – very thin
1.74 – thinnest. ($$$$)
The thinner the lens, the lighter your frame will feel on the face and will be more comfortable to wear all day. Our recommendation would be either a 1.6 or 1.67 lens which is generally 8-12% lighter than the 1.5 lens. The 1.74 lens is about 18% lighter than the 1.5 lens.
Ask your optician about stock lenses versus custom lenses. A custom lens gives a better fit for your vision needs.
FAQs
-
AJsens only works with high quality suppliers and materials. We are both CE and UKCA certified.

Blurry vision makes makeup difficult to apply. Whether you're nearsighted, farsighted, or somewhere in between, applying makeup without clear vision often means pressing your face up to the mirror to get uneven eyeliner or smudged mascara. Some people try switching between reading glasses and makeup tools, that don't work well and become hard to juggle. AJsens eyewear holds your own prescription and is specifically designed to come apart at the bridge and balance on your face while giving you full access to each eye to apply your makeup clearly and without obstruction.

Your eye health is important. Eye exams are generally recommended every one to two years, depending on your age, vision needs, and overall eye health. If you see changes in your vision ie. floaters, blurry vision, pain, frequent headaches, definitely consult an eye health care professional as soon as possible. Ask your doctor about having your retina checked as well. Regular eye exams help catch issues early, even if you don’t wear corrective lenses. They’re especially important if you spend a lot of time on screens or apply eye makeup frequently, as both can affect eye comfort and clarity over time.

Eye makeup hygiene is essential for protecting your eyes from irritation, infection, and long-term damage. Since the eye area is especially sensitive, even small lapses in hygiene like using dirty brushes or sharing products can lead to issues like styes, pink eye, or allergic reactions.
To keep things clean:
Always wash your hands before applying makeup.
Clean brushes and tools before using.
Avoid using eye products when you have an eye infection.
Don’t share mascara, eyeliner, or anything that touches your eye directly.
Good hygiene not only protects your eyes but also helps your makeup perform better and last longer.
-
It’s best to avoid using expired eye makeup, especially around your eyes. Products like mascara, eyeliner, and cream shadows can harbour bacteria over time, which increases the risk of irritation or infection once they’re past their shelf life.
As a general guide:
Mascara: Replace every 3 months.
Liquid eyeliner: 3–6 months.
Cream shadows: Up to 6 months.
Powder shadows: Up to 1–2 years (if kept clean and dry).
If a product smells off, has changed in texture, or irritates your eyes, even if it’s technically “in date”, it’s safest to toss it. When in doubt, don’t risk it, your eyes will thank you.
